To teach a third grade comprehension lesson which would include the following skills components:
  • Metacognitive modeling of Before, During and After reading strategies that good readers use for comprehension, fluency and accuracy.
  • Metacognitive modeling of the comprehension skill of asking questions
  • Explore how personification is used in fiction
  • Build vocabulary through reading and listening
  • Help students recognize text-to-text connections
  • Help students expand comprehension by analyzing, interpreting and synthesizing information and ideas
To demonstrate strategies for involving and engaging all students.
